Historique :	Le couvent de Saint Gal ou Saint Geal existait au 11e siècle. Il s'agissait d'un ermitage où saint Gal, évêque de Clermont, avait fait retraite. Au 13e siècle, la chapelle se trouvait à Puech brun ou Puech Bert, près de Murat. Il existe également dans le bourg de Roffiac, une croix du 16e siècle représentant saint Gal, patron et protecteur de l'église.
