Historique :	Ce tableau aurait été offert par Antoine de Noailles, né en 1651 au château de Pénières (mort à Paris en 1729), fief de sa famille depuis le 12e siècle, situé à quelques centaines de mètres de cette église. Antoine de Noailles, cardinal, duc et pair de France, archevêque de Paris, est connu notamment par sa participation dans la querelle du quiétisme et du jansénisme.

Précision_sur la representation :	Le retable présente deux pilastres toscans, aux chapiteaux surmontés d'une sphère, reliés par une corniche segmentaire couronnée d'une palmette. En renfoncement par rapport à ces pilastres et à son encadrement de marbre se trouve une toile représentant saint Antoine abbé au désert. Le saint est barbu vêtu du costume de son ordre, Tau des Antonins sur son épaule gauche, et agenouillé devant un crucifix à côté d'une cruche.
