Historique :	Il ne s'agit pas d'une oeuvre locale, elle a peut-être été réalisée par un atelier bourbonnais, mais avec une finesse des traits qui rapelle la sculpture champenoise.

Matériaux :	bois : taillé, polychrome
Précision sur_l'état :	Oeuvre restaurée en 1991 par l’atelier Nicaud du Puy-en-Velay.
Précision_sur la representation :	Saint Jean vêtu d'un grand manteau tient dans sa main gauche un calice d'où sort un dragon. Dans sa main droite, il esquisse un geste de bénédiction pour rendre le venin inoffensif (scène issue de la Légende dorée). Le visage du saint est à la fois doux, plat et lisse, il est imberbe, son grand front bombé, sa petite bouche, ses cheveux rejetés en arrière lui donnent une beauté angélique.
